Another first in SF Giants team history

The Giants - Dodgers rivalry has been going on for 123 years.  Over those years they have played 2,361 games.  The Giants have won 1,184 the Dodgers 1,160, with 17 ties.

Never have the Giants swept and shutout the Dodgers for 3 consecutive days.  I have been fortunate enough to witness this over the past 3 days.  First Zito 8 - 0, then Vogelsong 2 - 0 and today the Tim Lincecum of old in a 3 - 0 victory.  This is why I love baseball, you can see something today that has never happened in a 123 year history!

While my Dad was a Dodgers fan and I certainly went to my share of Dodgers games when I lived in 1000 Oaks.....I am now a Giants fan and I loved witnessing these unique experiences.

Witnessing a PERFECT Game!

Tonight I witnessed perfection!

At the Giants game tonight Matt Cain pitched a PERFECT game against the Houston Astros.

This was the first time in the 128 year history of the Giants (New York & San Francisco) that any Giants pitched a perfect game.  Matt was only the 22nd pitcher in the history of baseball to ever pitch a Perfect game.  To put this into some type of perspective 24 men have been to the Moon!

Matt struck out 14 batters to tie Sandy Koufax for the most strike outs in a Perfect Game!  Some writers are asking if Matt threw the best game ever.

Gregor Blanco made an amazing catch, it was then that I knew this was going to be a special night.
