While the logistics were quite complicated (Steve, Michele and Howard) driving 3 cars to the Thomas Edison lake (where we will end our trip) to drop off 2 cars and then drive over the Sierra Mountains to Mammoth was a long (12 hours) and winding trip, the experience was well worth the time.
Our first night we found a somewhat flat location on a bluff at 10,500 feet just above Golden Creek. The following morning I woke up early and decided I'd take a short hike myself up hill to Golden Lake. The mornings are so awesome. Here are a few flowers growing in the rocks and the morning light at Golden Lake.
Once everyone was up and had breakfast we decided we'd all take a hike to the Fourth Recess Lake.
The next day we took a hike across shelf of Mt Huntington as we headed towards Pioneer Basin. More beautify flowers, trees, lakes, etc. It's great to be in the presence of beauty!
Can you find the frog?
Our trip was over 5 days we covered 16 miles at 3 different camps we found.
