Drive to Lake Nakuru - Monday, June 6th

We packed and left the Samburu (meaning Butterfly) Game Lodge and did some site seeing of the animals on the way out.  But most importantly we got to meet and spend some time with the Samburu (this link is from Jimmy Nelson and has some amazing photos) tribe people.

Here are a few of mine: We were told the higher they JUMP the more attractive they are in getting a women. This young man seemed to have jumped the highest!

This is one of their homes!

Our drive to Lake Nakuru took about 8 hours.  We arrived after dark and when we entered the park to drive to our hotel, the Sarova Loin Hill Game Lodge, we startled a hippopotamus crossing the road and a water buffalo.

So thus started our first couple of days on Safari.  More to come in the following blog posts.
