Valencia - Tuesday, June 14th to Sunday June 19th

After a rewarding and exciting two weeks in Kenya it was SO nice to come home and sleep in our our bed and get back into our usual routine.....shopping at the Mercado Central (Central Market) once a week, discovering Valencia, making side trip and seeing our friends.

On Thursday, June 16th we rented a car and drove North to Peniscola, aka "The Gilbralta of Valencia or the City in the Sea.

We arrived in time for lunch and were so fortunate to find an AMAZING lunch restaurant called Sebsatian en Perla Blanca Restaurante.  It was incredible food and an awesome view.

I also got another photo for my future book!

It has an fantastic Castle, I've read it is THE most photographed in Spain.  I'll ad some on my photo's later but here is a video to experience what it is like - Peniscola, Castellon, Valencia providence.  We had a great day and hope to return!

On Saturday, June 18th we walked the city past the Torres de Quart, some of the original of the 16 towers around Valencia.  There are only 2 left and Torres de Quart is one of them.

We then went into and experience the Botanical Garden of Valencia, nice but nothing to write home about. I did like a few of the plants.

On Sunday, June 19th we met our new American friends Roz and Stephen in El Cabanyal el Canyamelar.  There was a free outdoor Jazz festival in the El Cabanyal park so we just hung out and enjoyed the night.  We did meet Roz and Stephan's friends Jose and Bonnie.

Nice to be home!
