So on the Sunday, October 6th, the day we arrived, after visiting La Boca we took a cab to
Plaza Dorrego. On Sunday's they have an AMAZING weekend market near all the antique stores. This market continued down Defensa Street maybe 10 blocks (1 mile) it was INCREDIBLE! Here are some photo's of some of the many things to buy!

As we continued to walk down Defensa Street we came to
Plaza de Mayo and what do we come upon but a matching band prepared to go up Avenue de Mayo, why? It was a major celebration for the Argentine Italians. The entire Ave. de Mayo was filled with Italian booths with food like paella and pasta. etc.
We were so hungry we went to the oldest cafe in Buenos Aires,
Cafe Tortoni, which opened in 1858. The cafe was the "office" for composers and performers of tango's 1920's heyday!
We finished our first day with dinner at the Park Hyatt and went to sleep around 11:00 pm.
