Art Gallery NSW, Royal Botanical Gardens, Hyde Park and Darling Harbour - Tuesday, September 8, 2015

We popped in for an argo (afternoon) look at Art Gallery NSW.  The first exhibit we saw was by Jitish Kallat.  It is a Mathama Gandi speech that was the beginning of his Salt March in which he walked 390 kilometers to the town of Dandi.  The exhibit are Gandi's speech spelled out but the letters appear to be made of bones....it's pretty overwhelmingly ace!  If you want to read Gandi's speech or see more just click on the link above.

What we really wanted to see was the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander "Our Spirits lie in the water"  Here are some of our favorites from Ronnie Tjampitjinpa.

Here are a few more pieces as they relate to water:

Fishing net

Fishing logs

This Art Gallery NSW just so happens to be in the Royal Botanical Gardens.  It was a glorious day to spend just wandering around the gardens.

The coat hanger (Sydney Harbour Bridge) and the Opera House from the gardens

Fort Denison - a former penal colony

Of course we walked down to see Mrs. Macquaries Chair

From here we headed over the Hyde Park and walked to the ANZAC Memorial in Hyde Park

From here we walked over to Darling Harbour.......no photo's it kinda reminded me of Fisherman's Wharf

As we were planning our trip, in April, I read about some excellent Sydney restaurants in Travel & Leisure.  I emailed ACME and made a reservation.   Well the day of our reservation in the newspaper where the Chef Hat Awards.  ACME got a Top Hat and won Citi
